Chasing Waterfalls

We just returned from an incredible 6 day, 5 night white-water rafting trip down the Colorado River in the Grand Canyon. We traveled 188 miles and rode the wild waves of 70 incredible rapids. In my last blog post, “Eat the Salt,” you can see the boats we used to “roll down the river.”

Our journey was not limited to the river. Every day we stopped along the way to take hikes, learn about the incredible geological history of the earth and enjoy the rapture of mother nature.

One of my favorite things we did was chase waterfalls. We witnessed the splendor of at least 30 different types of waterfalls.

Powerful falls that fell eighty feet, falls that danced over dome like boulders, falls with foams of white water that jumped over clear turquoise waters and falls that trickled over beautiful ferns.

Each waterfall had distinct characteristics; differentiating flavor or personality. Some waterfalls I felt serenity. Other waterfalls I felt fear. Each waterfall appeared to be mother nature’s way to cleanse our soul.

Each waterfall provided incredible beauty. Once again I was able to connect, reflect and appreciate God’s awesome works of art.

Have you ever chased waterfalls? How have you been inspired by the wonders of waterfalls? I’d love to hear your comments. Thank you!
